Terms of use

Draft — last updated July 2026.

The service

YourDevice provides browser-based tools that process your files locally on your device. The tools are free to use and provided as is, without warranties of any kind — including accuracy of transcripts. Machine transcription makes mistakes; review anything that matters before relying on it.

Your content

Your files and transcripts are yours. We claim no rights over them — we never receive them in the first place. You are responsible for having the right to process the recordings you transcribe (for example, consent where recording laws require it).

Acceptable use

Don't use the site to break the law, and don't attempt to disrupt the site for others. That's it.

Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for damages arising from use of the tools, including losses caused by transcription errors or browser/device failures during processing.

Changes

We may update these terms as the service evolves; the date above reflects the latest revision. Continued use after a change means acceptance of the updated terms.

Open source

The transcription engine is licensed separately under the MIT license — see the repository for its terms.
